Oscar Romero Liver Transplant Medical Expenses

For those of you who don't know at the end of March, Oscar was hospitalized for a week due to extreme esophageal bleeding. At this time he was diagnosed with Non-Alchoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver, Liver Cancer and we were told that he would need a liver transplant. Since March Oscar has had a targeted radiation procedure done to irradicate the cancer. GI scopes have been done every 5 weeks to prevent further bleeding. As well as he is currently going through multiple procedures and testing to prepare for his liver transplant, which will hopefully occur before the end of this year.

If you know Oscar personally, you understand the impact he has had on both the Tucson community and on many of the youth. He taught Biology and Physical Education at Tucson High School for 28 years and retired in 2018. During this time he was the Head Baseball Coach at Tucson High from 1990-2018 and the Head Golf Coach from 1986-2012 as well as serving as a coach with American Legion for 28 years. Even after his retirement he continued to serve as an assistant coach at Adams State University for 4 years and is currently an assistant coach at Pima Community College.

Although his family is writing this on behalf of him, we know that he has touched many lives here in Tucson and many of you also consider him family and are asking for your help.

We foresee the total medical expenses for the liver transplant to be over $100,000. Any donations will help go towards his medical expenses and will be greatly appreciated but if you can't donate he would appreciate your prayers.
