Orangutan Rehabilitation

Donation protected

During February- March of 2019, I will be volunteering for 4 weeks at the Sepilok Rehabilitation centre in Borneo.

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in the Malaysian Sabah District of North Borneo was founded to rehabilitate orphan orang-utans. The facility provides medical care for orphaned and confiscated orangutans that have been affected by deforestation and palm oil plantations, the illegal pet trade, poaching and mining.

I have been hand raising and rehabilitating orphaned and injured Australian wildlife for 15 years. My animal husbandry background in wildlife rescue and the Australian zoo industry has provided me with a range of skills to care for sick, injured and orphaned animals, giving them the best chance possible for rehabilitation and release back in to the wild. The 4 week program does not come cheap at a cost of $4000. This covers the cost of my accomodation and food while I am volunteering and the training provided by the team in the rehab centre as well as food and medical care for the Orangutans.
Now more than ever, these little guys need our help. We can’t allow these beautiful animals, which we are so closely related, to disappear!!

Any contribution, no matter how small, would be so greatly appreciated and is tax deductible.
