Aniin, Boozhoo, Hello,

My name is Steven McCoy, an Ojibwe from Garden River First Nation who resides in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Like many of you, I was shocked at the discovery of 215 of our Indigenous children who were tossed into an unmarked grave on the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

Shocked, but not surprised. We've known this graves existed because of the stories told to us by survivors and their families.

Now we want all of those who were responsible for this GENOCIDE to be held ACCOUNTABLE.

The Catholic Church, who hide the names and records of those young innocent kids they killed and the perpetrators responsible. Like cowards! Cowards who are afraid for what's about to come.

We want the Canadian government to be held accountable in the world courts as these are clearly CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.

Schools with mass unmarked graves are not schools, they are concentration camps. Its time for Canada to own up to its real history. Its time for everyone to realize that Canada was built on the mass unmarked graves of innocent Indigenous children who were murdered in state sanctioned policies and actions. The RCMP should be disbanded as it was created for the sole purpose to suppress and kill Indigenous people and it still carries out those white-supremist duties to this day.

We will not let Canada just sweep this one under the rug. The day of reckoning has come and it starts with raising awareness and demanding accountable action. We will no longer be accepting empty apologies, hollow gestures and simple land acknowledgements. We demand action, justice and our land back!
