The Lower Thames Crossing Association (LTCA) is a non-political, not-for-profit organisation established to benefit the communities impacted by the proposed Lower Thames Crossing. [more]
We are raising funds to continue to oppose Highways England’s proposals for a Lower Thames Crossing east of Gravesend, and to promote alternative solutions which we believe will provide maximum relief from congestion and pollution, and which will benefit people of Dartford, Gravesham, Thurrock and surrounding areas.
The money raised will help to meet the cost of banners, printed material, email circulars, and to contribute towards the cost of specialist support, including legal advice, and to run our website in support of the campaign.
So far we have been supported by a small group of generous donors and a number of local action groups, but now we need your urgent help to move the campaign to the next level.
We live in uncertain times. It is important that we keep up our efforts to lobby for the right solution for communities in Kent and Essex. While a Government decision is anticipated during March 2017 on a preferred solution to be taken forward, there will remain a lengthy process to go through as Highways England progress a Development Consent Order under the Planning Act 2008. Statutory public consultation will follow in due course.
It is our informed and considered view that Highways England's preferred solution for a Lower Thames Crossing will not solve the traffic congestion and pollution problems suffered by our local communities and will in fact make matters worse. It is vital that we make our views known to the decision makers.
