Operation Santa Claus

UPDATE: OPERATION SANTA CLAUS
DECEMBER 23, 2017

Early this morning, I spoke with a pastor I am coordinating with in Puerto Rico for Operation Santa Claus. She was so happy to hear about the donations so many of you have generously given. Along with the 5 palletts of aid that are en route, we can still use more help. She shared with me that there are "gifts" (food and drinking water) that we can purchase on the island to help families in need. So, if you are feeling in the Christmas spirit, please click the DONATE link and give generously and we will put every penny of your contribution to use helping families who are still struggling months after Hurricane Maria, many of whom still do not have power.

Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho!!! :)

Peace, JWK

OPERATION SANTA CLAUS
To: Puerto Rico
From: The Jersey Shore

Friends,

As many of you know, I was deeply involved in the clean up after Hurricane Sandy in my hometown of Belmar, NJ. One of the things that blew me away was the amount of help our local communities received from volunteers and donors from around the United States. I made a commitment to myself back then that if I could help a community in the future that was hit by a similar storm, I would.

Last month I was down in Puerto Rico helping people recover from Hurricane Maria and it was a very powerful experience.

Many families are still without power and are struggling each day for a sense of normalcy. We can help them.

We have launched Operation Santa Claus and are asking families here at the Jersey Shore to help us give much needed gifts to families in Puerto Rico.

We have a shipping container lined up to deliver the gifts to Puerto Rico and I will be on the ground in Puerto Rico when the container arrives. I will be working with two different churches in Puerto Rico to distribute these gifts to families who are in desperate need.

As you can see from this photo, people have already started to make generous donations and my apartment is filling up.

Luckily, St. Catharine School in Spring Lake (NJ) has agreed to store donations moving forward until we ship them off.  :)

With your donations, we will be purchasing:

Generators
Tarps
Power Strips
Power Cords
Solar Lamps
Cooking Stoves
Bottled Water
Medical Pads
Adult Diapers
Hand Sanitizer

This is the most updated list of requested items as of November 26, 2017.

Please make your contribution by December 10th so we can purchase as much as possible and fill the container by December 15th.

Thank you so much for your generous help for families in Puerto Rico. Here in New Jersey we know what's it's like to go through this. Let's send a little "Stronger than the Storm" NJ spirit down to PR this Holiday Season.

Peace,
