I have just been invited to participate in Opera Lucca! Opera Lucca is a summer festival for vocal, piano, and composition students, being held at the Lucca Italian School (in Lucca, Italy) from June 11th through July 6th. It's an absolute honor to have been accepted into this program, and I cannot wait to participate.
I've always dreamed of going to Italy and studying abroad. As a vocal major at West Virginia University, this is an incredible opportunity for me. The directors of Opera Lucca have extended me an unparalleled opportunity for me to learn the Italian language from native Italian speakers, immerse myself in Italian culture, and receive coaching from experts in operatic Italian.
As with any travel abroad, this opportunity comes with a price tag. I'm a college student working three jobs, but even by working as much as I can, I won't be able to fund this trip by myself. I hope that by sharing this I will be able to lighten my financial load. Any donation helps!
