Open Heart Surgery for Pastor Blessings Msindo
Beschermde donatie
Bishop Hezekiah Chiyaka’s sister-in-law, Pastor Blessings Msindo nee Matyokurebwa, (Mrs. Tendai Chiyaka’s sister), who is based in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, collapsed on the eve of Saturday 29 August 2020. Her husband, Apostle Maxwell Msindo rushed her to the hospital and several tests were conducted on her including a C.T. brain scan to ascertain the problem.
The initial results revealed that there was a shortage of oxygen to her right brains, which led to a mild stroke on her left side. The Physician that attended to her advised further tests and a scan be conducted in Harare. The couple travelled there and consulted a Cardiologist. More tests were done, and the results revealed that Pastor Blessings Msindo has a condition called Mitral Stenosis. This is said to be severe and may need surgery as soon as possible. A heart surgeon was consulted and advised the following possible interventions: 1. an “open heart surgery” either to repair the malfunctioning mitral valve or to replace it with a valve built from animal tissue or with a metal valve. Replacement is an option if it cannot be repaired. The other procedure that could be done is 2. “balloon valvotomy”. All these cannot be done in Zimbabwe where Pastor Blessings resides. So far South Africa and India are the nearest options available. Costs gathered from both countries show that India is an affordable option with costs amounting to 15,000USD including flights, accommodation and subsistence.
It is in this regard that the couple is appealing, through Bishop Hezekiah Chiyaka for financial assistance to travel to India for the Open-Heart Surgery urgently according to the Cardiologist’s recommendations.
We thank you for all the love and support and are strengthened by having such an army around us.
