I am raising money to buy some serviceberry trees and some other small plants to be planted along the trail next to McCormick Boulevard. Serviceberries are very good for the environment because lots of birds and other animals like to eat their berries, and they also look very nice. The spot they are going to be planted is very good for them as it gets plenty of sun and it is near the channel.
If I raise enough money to buy the plants, they will be planted some time in late September or early October. If I raise more money than my goal, then the extra money will be given to the Evanston Habitat Project, perhaps to buy more plants to be placed along the North Shore Channel. If you would like to learn more about the Evanston Habitat Project, or if you are interested in Volunteering, please go to evanstonhabitat.org, or email [email redacted] .
This is the area where I am going to plant the new trees and plants
