Oliver Phillips' Final Adoption Fund

Donation protected
The Adoption Story:  Benjamin and Emilee Phillips prayed for seven years to be parents. After much prayer they decided to adopt. With one failed adoption, $10,000 not returned to them and many tears shed, they took courage and applied to a new agency. They were picked by a mom in Arizona and agreed to an open adoption. Oliver came into our lives in October,2019, two days earlier than planned so only Emilee and Gigi, me, were there. This is a pic with Emilee holding Oliver when only a couple hours old. This is a picture with my son holding him for the first time, after flying there thru the night. Three weeks later, he came home to Alabama with the Arizona adoption in process. Once home the Alabama adoption  was initiated. Arizona finalized but then the virus came and all court cases stopped. But a year later, in December, as you see in the picture, we were at the courthouse for his official final adoption in Alabama. Woohoo. The judge in charge of the adoption was also adopted and had the same adoption date.
Oliver has changed his parents' lives and brought so many blessings to them but also to others. His name means bringer of peace and so he has been to all his family and friends.
The Cost: Benjamin and Emilee, while supporting other couples in their adoption process - never talk of their own financial burden of an adoption that was very costly. They still have approximately $25,000 outstanding which includes payment for the failed adoption. This is a lot of debt for a young couple as new parents.
How You Can Help: While on the phone to my best friend from school days, I was telling her how Oliver was doing and explained how expensive adoptions were. She had no idea it was so expensive. She was surprised at the amount they owed and she mentioned how she would have donated to help them toward paying off the debt. I had no idea she felt that way and thought maybe there were others with the same sentiment, so I thought of giving others the opportunity to help pay off the adoption with Gofundme.
Every penny would go toward the adoption loan .
I thought this might be the perfect time - at Christmas, the month his adoption was finalized and the season of generosity we all feel with the birth of the Christ King.  I would love the funds to be in as a Christmas gift before the new year starts.
I cannot think of a more loving and generous couple than Ben and Emilee. Right now they have a young adult living with them as he had no one else.  Seems like they are always helping people in need, involved in people's lives and hosting their home church weekly get together.
As Oliver's Gigi, this means the world to me as I know how heavy this debt is on my son's heart. So, it is with great anticipation that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the money you can donate. It will go in a special bank account and we will oversee the loan payoff with great celebration. Thank you for making this Christmas unforgettable at the Phillips family .
