Old bloke runs marathon for youth employment
Tax deductible
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Home Ground, and every donation will help.
Over the years, I've spent a lot of time in cafes and eating delicious cafe food. This has led to a genuine appreciation and passion for hospitality workers and my waistline expansion. So I decided it was time to do something about both and run a marathon to raise funds for Home Ground and trim some of my excess kgs!
I helped establish Home Ground way back in 2017. Birthed with a vision to champion the strengths of our local community. Home Ground is a youth training cafe providing on-the-job training and employment pathways for young people in our community. As little as $1000 will cover the cost of training a young person to complete our ten-week intensive program, develop into a hospo pro and hopefully have a chance of finding meaningful employment within the hospitality industry.
I will complete a full marathon [42.2km] at 10am on Saturday, 29th October 2022, starting from Commonfolk Frankston and running to Commonfolk Beaumaris and back!
Approx times at locations:
Start 9am - Commonfolk Frankston
11:30am - Commonfolk Beaumaris
2pm - Commonfolk Frankston

All donations are welcome and will go a long way towards coercing this overweight old bloke with a mullet follow-through on this seemingly impossible feat! Thank you in advance for contributing to this cause, which means so much to me.
