InnerCity Yth Mentorship & Football

The Falcons are an organization that strives to achieve and instill excellence in inner-city young men. Football is the tool and metaphor that we use to teach the life lessons of hard work, discipline, reward, victory, failure and perseverance. We are a group of mentors, tutors, and coaches that truly care about each and every young man that comes through our program.

There is no out of pocket expense for the kids that play for the Falcon organization. All equipment, uniforms and league costs are covered for any child that wants to play. The coaches provide transportation for most of the kids to practice and/or games as many of them do not have access to reliable transportation or have parents that work evenings etc.

Although we have been a perennially successful and winning program, winning is not taught to be the most important outcome. We believe in success. Wins and losses are short term outcomes, and even in an individual defeat successes can be found. With hard work, discipline, and perseverance there is no need to focus on the score, or even wins and losses. We teach and live by that ethic.

Any funds raised with the GoFundMe will be used towards the purchase of uniforms, cleats, and equipment. Those items are issued at the beginning of the season and we retrieve them at the end. However, due to standard wear and tear we typically have to buy new uniforms and replace helmets, shoulder pads etc. about every 3 years.
