:Help me prevent child drownings
Donation protected
Children die when they don't know how to swim. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in infants and children ages 1-4. I want to help change this. "Not One More Child Drowns" is the mission statement for ISR (Infant Self-Rescue), and it is a mission I have adopted as my own.
For the last 6 years I have taught infant aquatic self-rescue/swim lessons at my home using my pool. I am a certified ISR Instructor and each year I have started lessons in the second week of May and ended in September. My calendar has been completely full and limited because I depend on the sun to heat the water to a safe temperature. I would like to reach more families who want their children to learn how to be safe and stay alive in the water. The only way I can do this is by extending the swim season.
I am asking for donations to assist with the installation of a pool heater. I will be able to reach more families by extending my lesson season to start earlier in spring and end later in the fall. For every $60 donated I will provide a week of lessons. When donating, please note the last name of the student you are sponsoring. The normal cost of the lessons are $85 a week, so I would call this a win-win! In addition, I will offer donors first opportunity to register their child before I open the schedule to the general public. Please note, parents will still be responsible for the ISR registration fee. If you are out of my area or your children are aged out of my program but you'd still like to contribute I will utilize your donation for a family of foster/adoptive children that I work with.
Children can learn to stay safe in the water. Please help me reach more people and touch more lives so that Not One More Child Drowns!
