Helping Out Odessa Orphanage
Odessa Orphanage is in need of basic necessities for its kids.
Hi my name is Hudson and I am having my Bar Mitzvah soon. For my Mitzvah project I am trying to raise money for an orphanage in a small town in Ukraine, Russia.
When some teachers from my hebrew school traveled to the orphanage they said that the children are in need of many basic necessities. They also told us that many children have no toothbrushes and some have to brush their teeth with soap. They don't even have pajamas to sleep in.
When I raise enough money i will buy the kids items such as clothes, jackets, toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, etc. Attached below are some of the children's stories.
PLEASE HELP BY DONATING ANY AMOUNT AND POSTING TO FACEBOOK OR TWITTER BY DOING SO YOU CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN MANY CHILDREN'S LIVES!
Avraham Vinarsky 16
His Mother died when he
was 12. He lived with his father for a year after his mother died but it became
unbearable. His father was always drunk and when his older brother was arrested
and sent to prison he knew he had to leave. He is a good boy who suffers from
an underdeveloped heart and he is not growing as fast as other children.
Since he came he has
made lots of friends and is doing well in school.
Moshe
Popalucha 16
Moshe never had a
father. He was brought up by his mother. Around a year ago his mother was
brutally murdered by a crazed man with a hammer. He now has no family besides
an aunt. He is a very happy boy. He recently celebrated his Bar-
Mitzvah. Because he has no family, we made him a huge party and invited all his
friends. Many people from the community also came to support him and help him
feel special on this day that is usually shared with family.

When his mother was 8
months pregnant with him, she was taken to the hospital because of a drug
overdose and prematurely gave birth to him. His father picked up the habit from
his mother and is also a drug addict. He has since, contracted aids and now
also drinks. The mother disappeared when he was a baby and no one knows where
she is or even if she is alive.
Levi Kabikov, 6
Years old.
Levi's mother and
sister are both mentally unstable. His mother used to leave him at home
unsupervised for the whole day, alone with their 20 dogs. When he was 2 and a
half, we found out about him from a friend and took him in. As his only
companions growing up were dogs, he was constantly copying them.
When he first came to
our home, he liked to crawl like a dog, he cried like a dog he even ate like a
dog licking the food off of his plate. It was like something out of a movie.
Two years later, although he no longer acts like a dog; he still needs a lot of
help.
Sasha Savosh 15.
He lived with his
mother in Simferopol. When he was 9 his mother left him with a neighbor and
disappeared to turkey. When the neighbor realized that the mother was not
coming back she took him to the Synagogue and left him with the rabbi who sent
him to us. We tracked down the mother in Turkey but she said she can't come
back even for a visit as she is there illegally. Sasha learns well in school
and does well socially even though he does have an issue with respect for
authority.
Sasha Svinolobov, 8.
Sasha has no father and
his mother abandoned him at birth. His grandmother brought him up alone. His
grandmother tries very hard, but she is 65 years and it is very hard for her to
take care of him. He would come to kindergarten whenever she had the strength
and time to take him. Since he came to live with us, his life has been much
more stable. His grandmother still keeps in close contact with him and visits
him often. He often goes to his grandmother's house for weekends and
holidays.
