Odd Job-An Ambitious Dystopian Student Film
Spende geschützt
Hi, my name is Levi and I'm a Metis filmmaker at InFocus Film School looking to raise funds for the upcoming short film "Odd Job." As the writer/producer of this project, I wanted to tell a story that's both an entertaining genre piece and an examination of current social issues through the guise of dystopian, tragicomic crime thriller.
This story is personal to me in terms of how I perceive the current state of the world through my background as a Sociologist as well as my own personal value system. My goal is to address issues such as class disparity, the growing rift within Western society via issues such as vaccines and first world/white privilege in a way that is entertaining and doesn't actively shame or preach to an audience. Ultimately, to sum up the project: It's cool. It's intense. It's absurd.
Synopsis
On Christmas Eve, in a dystopian city where a giant wall separates the rich from the poor, unemployed ex-cop Dunn (29), transits
by foot with his friend, Brody (27), to the affluent side of the wall for an unspecified job consultation with a rich client. Once the men arrive at their destination, however, the pretense of a consultation quickly fades, and the two men find themselves embroiled in an arena of hedonism, violence and betrayal...
