Occupational therapy with children in Uganda

I will be volunteering with an occupational therapist at Kyaninga Child Development Centre in Fort Portal, Uganda.  The volunteer work will include supporting children with various conditions including: cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Downs syndrome, spina bifida, hydrocephalus and learning disabilities, to be as independent as possible with carrying out their daily activities. This may include getting washed and dressed in the morning and/or going to school. 

I believe this will be a rewarding and challenging experience that I hope will benefit individuals in the community.
