Facing Futures Vietnam Mission
Spende geschützt
Dear Friends and Family,
This March I will be joining the international pediatric facial deformity organization Facing Futures on a philanthropic surgical mission to Hoi An, Vietnam. Vietnam is a densely-populated (87 million) developing country that in the last 30 years has had to recover from the ravages of war. 38% of the population lives off less than $2 a day. Approximately 1 out of every 500 children are born with a form of cleft lip and/or palate. People living in the remote areas of the country have difficulties traveling to the larger urban areas where facilities exist to provide cleft care. Dr. Barry Steinberg of University of Florida-Jacksonville created Facing Futures over 20 years ago to help provide this care to this largely underserved population, and we need your help. Help us give each patient the chance to live a healthy and productive life with a beautiful and functional smile on their face!
On a personal note, this is a cause that is very close to my heart. I have volunteered with another wonderful organizations, Uplift Internationale, providing such care in the nearby country of the Philippines. These experiences have forever changed my life, and have driven me to further my efforts in providing this life-altering care. I am humbled with this opportunity to serve the beautiful people of Southeast Asia. It is my hope that God will continue to mold and shape me for His purposes through this mission.
Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
