Brian’s adoption fund

Donation protected
We are writing this letter to request help for the adoption of our son Brian from Uganda. My name is Robert Mbasan. My wife Erica and I attend Chapel Falls Christian Fellowship with Pastor Nathan Robinson. We are writing this letter with his blessing. Erica and I met in Uganda as we were both in ministry (her as a missionary and me working in my local church in Kampala). As we had opportunity to minister alongside each other, we felt the call of God to be married.  Our nephew, Brian, was born in June 2008. He is a precious child, full of the Lord and extremely gifted. He was abandoned by his parents when he was 6 months old. As a result, his grandmother (my mother) Robina has raised and care for Brian as best she could. Being older, it has been a challenge for her. Once several years ago, Brian was walking on the road and was hit by a truck. It was a miracle that he survived. He shattered the bones in one of his legs but was able to nearly fully recover. God’s hand is certainly upon his life! I have felt a deep sense of responsibility for Brian and have helped support him. Erica and I began spending more time with him, bonded, and felt that we belonged together as a family. While in Uganda on the mission field, we made the decision to adopt Brian, and he lived with us for a year. Before the adoption process could be complete, we experienced an unforeseen tragedy. Erica and I had to travel to the US for a time of healing and restoration. We had to leave Brian behind. Brian is smart, funny, and talented. He wants to be a pilot and a pastor when he grows up. We enrolled him in a Christian school and he’s been at the top of his class for the past 2 years. He loves playing drums and doing ministry. The best time of our lives was when we were together in Uganda, serving the Lord as a family. There is no greater privilege than pouring into this special young man. It has been over a year since we left the mission field. We communicate with Brian daily by phone. We have rented an apartment, established a home and have made preparations to complete the adoption process to bring Brian home to New York. The process is lengthy and expensive and we are doing all that we can financially. We were encouraged by Pastor Nathan to share this opportunity with our brothers and sisters. We ask that you prayerfully consider supporting this effort. The cost above includes: travel for Erica and I to Uganda then back to the US with Brian, spending 1-3 months there to finish everything up, hiring a lawyer, and many of the legal fees involved. We greatly appreciate your prayers and financial support. May God richly bless you brothers and sisters in Christ.
