My name is Melissa Moats, and I am creating this page on behalf of my childhood best friend, Angie. I've known Angie since we were both 8 years old. Angie and I are now 38, and she was recently diagnosed with stage 3c Ovarian Cancer... Far too young to be facing a life-threatening cancer!
Angie, also known as "Sunni" and "Sunflower" by many is truly the sunshine in so many lives! She has an amazing teenaged son, Dakota, and lives a vibrant and active life in Taos NM. She loves nature, the outdoors, hiking the gorgeous mountains of Taos, and is a health and exercise enthusiast to say the least!
Angie was recently rushed to the University of NM Hospital in Albuquerque where during an emergency surgery Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer was found. They also discovered that the cancer had spread to her stomach. Ovarian Cancer is commonly undetectable until it is very far advanced. Angie, only started to feel pain, bloating and discomfort days prior to her surgery!
Angie lives in Taos, 2.5 hours away from Albuquerque, where she'll be receiving intense chemo treatments. As timing would have it, Angie recently became unemployed just a month prior to receiving this challenging news.
I'm creating Angie's "Happy Healing" Fund to support Angie body, mind, and spirit as she takes this journey on. In addition to maintaining the overhead of daily life she'll have many travel expenses to get the best treatment, also a great need for organic foods, juices, and supplements to support her immune system during this process, as well as wig and eyelash money to keep herself feeling beautiful! Every girl needs to feel pretty... no matter what is going on! ;-)
Angie is a modest, sweet, & happy person. She puts good into the world every day. She's the person you always see smiling. I'd love to see her not have to worry about how she's going to make ends meet as she goes through this. I humbly thank you for supporting my dear childhood friend during this difficult time. If anyone can beat this, Angie "Sunni" Wise can! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, kindness, prayers and help. <3
