This is Amir Farsoud. I do not know him never met him we are complete strangers but for some reason I felt compelled to help. Amir is 54 years old and signed up to die by MAID (medical assistant death in Canada) because he can't afford to live anymore. This just shook me to the core. This is not what life is about. He was told that he would have to wait seven years for affordable housing. Right now after all his bills are paid, he currently has $7 a day left for food. He currently lives in a rooming house that has recently been sold, and he knows he will have to vacate soon and would rather die than be homeless and living in utter poverty in our countries broken social system. Let's all process that. He is choosing to die because he can't afford to live. Please, everyone, my goal is to raise enough money for him to be able to pay his rent and for food for the next seven years so he can apply and move into affordable housing and show him hope. We need humanity to win. We are all in this life together and as Canadians we need to help. If the past 3 years taught us anything it’s that without compassion, resilience, community and good health we are nothing. If we all donate what we can spare, we can help him.
