Raising running costs for Nova FM
Nova FM took to the airwaves on 7th January 2012. Serving a population of approx 15,000 people, 24 hours a day on the Internet from studios in the High Street, Newport in Shropshire.
Our aim is to inform and entertain the local community through combining a diverse mix of music, local news, sports and information about local community events, services and good causes. In July 2015 the station was awarded a full time FM community radio license on 97.5FM.
The station is staffed entirely by volunteers, some of themselves, members of this community, Nova FM aims to interact with the community of Newport and surrounding areas and give local people the chance to voice their opinions and have their say on local issues affecting them as well as others of the community. Our aim is to foster closer interaction and to promote ‘Social-Cohesion’ across all members of the community.
Why do we need to raise money now? with quartley PPL and PRS, rent, equipment and other associated costs to pay it is very difficult to keep sufficient funds in the bank to ensure the project can keep its head above water. We really need the funds now to ensure the staion keeps on air.
All our vounteers have put in so much work and effort to get the station to where it is now and for it to fall now would be a real blow to their efforts.
This project means the world to all of us and to raise the funds we are looking for would mean the world to us all and enable us to keep us going.
