North Tawton Youth Football Club - 24 Hour Sponsored Bike Ride

is a fundraising campaign which aims to raise funds to put towards a much needed and long overdue clubhouse and social area.

The Football Club has for years been creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive place for children aged 6 - 16 to express their love for the great game. ⚽ The football club is also home to a senior team, who's focus and values are to continue to nurture the oldest youth players to ensure a safe transition into adults football. The club is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who give up a significant amount of their time to ensure that all children have the best possible chance to develop both their social and football skills so that their confidence can grow both on and off the pitch.

As the club continues to grow, the need for up to date facilities grows with it - Our clubhouse (which was once the old changing rooms) is in much need of replacement. We are planning to build a new clubhouse, which will incorporate a social area for the players, coaches and parents to gather and hopefully relax, regardless of the weather! Within the clubhouse we plan to install a modern kitchen area, so teas, coffees and refreshments will be readily available. A larger clubhouse with an upgraded social area allows us to open up to more community based events to continue and grow the huge community spirit North Tawton has to offer.

To raise funds for this, players from our youth and senior teams, including coaches (and hopefully some parents!) will be undertaking a 24 hour bike ride in North Tawton Square on the 25th/26th April 2025. The cycle will be undertaken on static bikes with speedometers attached so that everyone knows how far they have ridden. We will have two bikes in rotation so that the wheels don't stop turning (so to speak!) when swapping persons over. We will also have a competition running throughout for a 'closest to the total mileage' guess, with the closest taking home an Amazon voucher on behalf of the Football Club.
