Early January of this year, our baby Noodle was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The cancer showed up on the lip looking like a normal infection. However, it came and went away multiple times with the swollen lymphnode, so we decided to do extensive testing and the result came back as lyphoma.
After multiple tests to determine: whether the cancer is curable, what stage his cancer is at, and how agressive it is, at the same time of having the mass on his lip removed with multiple medications, his medical bills came up to over $3,000. Once his cancer type was determined to be curable and he might have a chance to beat it, we decided to fight with him. We were sent over the the Veterinary Cancer Group in Tustin. At this vet, Noodle was treated with chemo immediately and the treatments were over $400/ treatment every three weeks and $200/ follow up appoitment after every chemo. Because of this we did a fund raiser to help pay his medical bills. We raised over $4000 and we were hoping that would be more than enough.
Noodle was doing well with the first chemo treatment. But after the second chemo, the swelling on his lymphnode have a pattern on going down after chemo, and swelling up right before the next chemo is due. At this point, it's controling his cancer, which what we don't want. So we decided to do more testing to determine if he is a good candicate for lymphnode removal sugery, which he is. This surgery has higher sucessful rate in dogs in general, and as long as we have a chance to save him, we will try anything. The estimated cost of this sugery is over$3000 on top of additional chemo treatments following the surgery.
We are hoping to raise $7,000 to cover the lymphnode removal and the follow up chemo treatments for the months to come. We appreciate everyone that has been able to support Noodle finacially and emotionally.
