Nolan's E-book Fundraiser- Rebuilding Kenosha
Tax deductible
Like any parent, I struggled to explain the protesting and unrest that happened in Kenosha, WI in late August of 2020. After gently explaining things the best I could, I drove Nolan around to see the boarded up businesses while the painting was well underway. When we got home, Nolan said, "I think I'm going to write a book to explain all of this to kids. They are probably confused." He loves to write and I thought this would be a great way for him to process everything while also helping others. He wanted to donate all of the money he earned to help rebuild Kenosha. He said, "Mom, I've always wanted to raise $100 by selling books, but knowing that this is going to help the community is ever better."
We set out with a goal of $100, and over a few short days Nolan raised $645! Alexandria Binanti, the director of Downtown Kenosha, Inc., graciously agreed to meet with Nolan to accept his donation. He wanted to really wow her with a "big check," so we made one out of poster board and presented it on Sept. 8th. Since then, more amazing people have wanted to buy Nolan's book to help him with his mission.
In order to keep up with the demand, we have created this Gofundme with a link to Nolan's book. We will use the honor system... if you'd like to read Nolan's book, please donate and then click on the link to access his E-book. Like before, all proceeds will go to DKI (Downtown Kenosha, Inc.) to benefit Downtown and Uptown Kenosha's rebuilding efforts.
Thank you !
