Nizhoni Garden Needs a Truck!

Spende geschützt
On April 24, a new episode of the Fixers, a reality TV show on byutv, aired, documenting a project at Red Valley Cove High School in Red Valley AZ to build two greenhouses and a garden education site for the school. View the Documentary HERE

The project was spearheaded by Navajo farmer LaVonna George with support from Dr David Schemberger and Janice Christensen with the Community Garden Farm School in Cortez, CO.

For the full story on the project we recommend you watch the documentary. You can type in tinyurl.com/nizhonigarden or click on the link below. We think it will truly inspire you!

However, we have found that to bring this project to its full potential, we need transportation.

CAN YOU HELP US BUY A GOOD USED TRUCK FOR THE PROJECT?

We need a solid used pickup truck with a club cab for workers and students. This will allow us to get around and haul materials and tools. On the Navajo Nation everything is far apart. The closest hardware store is 40 miles away. LaVonna, the project director, lives 35 miles away, and has no vehicle, so she has had to depend on friends and relatives to give her rides to the project.

All our friends and relatives, as well as everyone who sees the documentary, please help us add this new piece to the dream. It will meet a great need and help reach our goals to train young Navajo farmers in these new techniques to grow healthy food in the dessert.

Please help. Even small amounts help us reach our goal!
