Nikitiades family

Nicholas was initially admitted to CHOP with a subdural hemotoma(brain bleed). During the next few days he suffered a massive stroke and subsequent seizures that have damaged the left side of his brain severely. After many tests and the work of many teams of doctors, we were told that an ecoli infection was present in our son. This terrible infection is what has caused the stroke in Nicholas. In addition to treating the stroke, seizures, infection and then a virus on top of that - Nicholas has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. We are working closely every day with these doctors to figure out a plan for Nicholas' treatment and hoping to be able to bring him home at some point in the future.

The medical bills have been overwhelming. Even with insurance out of pocket expenses are already in the tens of thousands and will quickly escalate. This does not even begin to cover the unknown special needs expenses that Nicholas may require when Wendy and George are, God Willing, able to bring Nicholas home.
