Help Nicholle Kick Cancer

As most of you know by now I have been diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma. 

I wanted to give a little bit of background on me and tell my story to date. It was a Thursday, August 11th to be exact and the night before my birthday, and I randomly felt a lump but of course I waited to tell anyone. I was concerned but scared. Days later, I shared my discovery with Peter, and once I did, I realized I didn’t just have one lump to be concerned about, I had several. A month later I was scheduled for several tests and then a biopsy. While I still held hope this was nothing, I knew deep in my gut that our lives were about to change. I can still hear the words echoing, ‘stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma.’ What does that even mean? Before I had time to absorb any of this, I was notified that my father, James Chadwick had died. Cirrhosis of the liver had taken him way too soon. Needless to say, I am finding daily life to be a struggle. The battle I have ahead of me is going to be tough, but in proper Nicholle fashion, I will prevail. I have to. There is no other choice. 

The plan : 

This week I am meeting with fertility doctors , a nutritionist , and will have a port placed in order to begin treatments. I will then begin aggressive chemotherapy traveling an hour each way beginning the week of October to 17th. This will be nonstop for the next 12 weeks. And then my treatment will switch to another type of chemotherapy which will be every three weeks for roughly 12 weeks.

Following the end of the 6 months , tests will be run and I will require a double mastectomy.

Never one to ask for help, I find myself faced with no choice. To everyone who contributes, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
