Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission of Kenya

The Ngando Orthodox Christian School and Community Learning Centre was founded by Father Antipas Odhiambo nearly two decades ago. The school conforms to the standards of the Kenyan Ministry of Education but also incorporates the teachings of the Orthodox Christian faith as a part of the curriculum.

Father Antipas and his students and teachers and staff have undergone many hardships over the last twenty or so years, and have had to rebuild at least once after their land was seized by the Kenya Railway and Kenya Power companies, and destroyed, along with 3,000 homes and 200 local businesses. By the grace of God, he was able to relocate the school not far from its original site, and no students lost their places.

But the work of the Ngando Orthodox School and Community Learning Centre reaches beyond the school grounds and into the community. Father also takes care of the local widows and orphans, ensuring that they have adequate medicine, and food and that their rents are paid.

Donations have declined over the last few months as worldwide inflation rates rise and people find less charity in their pockets. But every cent, bob, and shilling helps.
