Jan. 5th Update: Tabitha’s Medical Expenses
#gettheadamsoverthefinishline #tabithasambassador
Hello Everyone!
First of all, thank you so much for your prompt response and generosity towards Tabitha and the Adams family. You prayed for them without ceasing! You encouraged them with scriptures and words of healing. You blessed them extravagantly! I can’t tell you how much you mean to the Adams family.
Medical Expense Update:
In 18 days, 47 of you donated $9,435. Friends, we’re almost 50% there. That’s incredible! Your generosity is making a huge difference as they embark on this medical recovery.
Next Week’s Challenge:
I’m praying to raise $5,000 every week for next 3 1/2weeks. Will you take the charge of being #Tabithasambassador? That means: post the gofundme campaign on your wall and tag 50 friends with the #letsgettheadamstothefinishline.
The hope is that each person can raise $100 or more in one week for the next 3 1/2 weeks. Our ultimate goal is to get everyone involved and engaged and be a blessing to the Adams family.
Friends, as Tabitha’s sister, I’ve been so blessed to see how many people love and respect my sister and brother-in-law.
Thank you for loving them so well!
Samantha

Immediate Surgery #3 for Tabitha:
James and Tabitha Adams have dedicated their lives to serving others. They have served tens of thousands of people in Haiti through their organization and continue to serve the people there. I’m bias, of course, because Tabitha is my sister and I get to see the kind of people they are. The truth is, it’s more than just bias, many of you have been blessed by their ministry and love for people.
Tabitha and her family have gone through some major medical crisis for the past 5 years. However, 2018 has been the hardest and toughest for the whole family to recover from. James and Tabitha are extremely private people and they don’t like asking for help for themselves but friends they need your help!
Quick Summary of Tabitha’s journey this year
In January this year, she had surgery #1, an abdominal reconstructive surgery to repair 2 large size hernias (one the size of a watermelon and the other the size of a cantaloupe).
Weeks after surgery, her incisions completely re-opened which became an emergent situation and surgery #2 had to happen. She had a woundvac placed on her stomach for 4 months. After months with the vacuum 95% of the wound finally closed-up but the other 5% wouldn’t close! After multiple treatments, visits with several specialists, it has became clear that Tabitha’s body is rejecting the mesh! So...last Friday they saw the surgeon and got the news, she needs immediate surgery. The mesh (13x13) is infected within her body (not good) and she needs to have emergency surgery #3 to remove the mesh, remove all the adhesions and reconstruct her abdominal wall this Tuesday, December 18 (tomorrow 11am). The expected time for recovery is an extensive 4-6 months. This is a very long time especially for Tabitha who is a wife, a mother, and a homeschool teacher.
Since surgery #1 (January of 2017) they've accumulated a debt of $26,000 (not including this upcoming surgery). Between expensive medications (26 pills daily since January), special devices that are not covered by insurance, doctors visits, and surgery costs, it’s been a huge burden on them. James will be taking 3 weeks off to be with Tabitha because this surgery will require all hands on deck and it’s incredibly important she’s doesn’t get sick during the first month of her recovery.
Here’s how you can get involved:
$26,000 is a lot of money! It will take a village to attempt to raise that amount of money, but I believe we can really bless the Adams family during these very hard seasons.
I’m asking every one of my friends, Tabitha and James Facebook friends to participate. You can donate $7, $17, $27 or any amount you would like to give. Please share this on your facebook page and lets invite everyone to support them.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
The Adams,
James, Tabitha, Selah, Faithful, Judah, Cyébel, Aimee, Mercy
