Newborn Baby Saves Fathers Life

Hi, my name is Marissa and I wanted to share the story of how the birth of my niece, Evelynn, saved her father’s life.

On Tuesday, November 09th, my brother Dakota and his partner Jasmine, arrived at the hospital to welcome their first baby. This was not their first trip, they had already been rescheduled days before. After a few minimal complications, Evelynn made her way into the world. As delivery staff starts tending to the baby’s needs, Mom noticed that dad was showing signs of distress. The nurse quickly realized these were not normal, new dad, jitters. She acted quickly and transported him to the emergency room where it was discovered that he was 24 years old, and having a heart attack.

I want to thank the doctors and nurses who acted so efficiently. They quickly took Dakota into surgery to put a stint in his heart. They discovered that his LED artery was 95 percent blocked. If he had not been in the hospital, with vigilant and perceptive staff, Evelynn would not have met her father.

Dakota came out of surgery, and was transferred into the ICU. While trying to recover himself, he now also worries about his family. Overnight it was discovered that mom and baby need extra medical attention. As I’m writing this, all three are currently in the hospital.

I’m asking that you find it in your hearts to donate as both parents cannot currently work, and all three are accumulating medical bills and expenses. Any little bit helps and every donation is appreciated.
