Madinah Melbourne City Fundraiser

Asalamu Alaykum,
 My name Abdiwali. I am a Muslim living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I intend to raise $5000 http://www.madinahnext.org/ for this honourable cause inshallah. Really this money isn’t for me rather the money goes to establish a Masjid in the city of Melbourne with and through Mercy Mission and Madinah Next.


 On the authority of the Commander of the Faithful (Imam {Ali) (peace be upon him): the Apostle (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said: “If you wish for Allah to multiply your wealth, then purify it (through zakat).”


So just a little info about where the money goes to. The money will be used to renovate a brand new masjid and community centre in the heart of Melbourne. The Madinah Next campaign is about establishing a permanent Madinah in the Melbourne CBD. Why? So that the Muslims have a place they can call home, right in the city. When they're working, studying or just dropping by for some shopping. The time to do this is now, with your support, before property prices sky rocket in the city. The Madinah is run by you, for the community. Whether or not you personally frequent the Madinah, just the fact that you will be facilitating prayers for 1000s of Muslims on it's own should make everyone of us yearn to be part of this project.

 

Madinah is predominantly a community centre and not a Masjid. Its much more than a Masjid.

•         A place for Muslims to pray while working / studying / shopping / visiting the CBD rather than praying on the streets (we can never have too many Mosques)  

•        It's one of the few centres that has a dedicated sisters team running sisters events (in fact we have more sisters events than we do for brothers) and have on the agenda an ambitious aim of establishing a strong #sisterhood that all our sisters can be part of, connect & increase in their love of our Creator.

•         A centre that has facilities for mothers to come, relax, feed kids, unwind and take a break (from perhaps a busy shopping schedule in the CBD lol)

•        A place for Muslims to pray while working / studying / shopping / visiting the CBD rather than praying on the streets (we can never have too many Mosques)

•         A centre for the youth to call home and spiritually connect with their creator. Especially in the middle of all the distractions the CBD has to offer.

•         A centre that transcends cultural / ethnicity based division, which is inherent in our suburbs. At the Madinah we see people from all suburbs, from all cultures & from all backgrounds Walhamdulillah

•         A centre where the youth teach kids Islamic studies, using a structured curriculum while at the same time understanding kids and ensuring the kids find it fun, engaging & beneficial at the same time. (Parents often tell us how their kids wake up Sunday mornings and actually look forward to coming to the Madinah to learn more about Islam, Allahu Akbar).

•         A centre that will help Muslims establish a footprint in the CBD. Beautiful Melbourne is OUR city and don't you think it is only be-fitting that we have our own community centre in the city

 
This matter is urgent and by the grace of Allah (swt) we have been given time to meet the due amount however the time is short. This is a type of Zakat and Zakat should never be neglected. Do not delay your Zakat this money goes 100% straight to Mercy Mission who in return provide for Muslims a place to call home. It is stated that by giving Zakat the following benefits are derived:

• Gain the pleasure of Allah.
• Increase in wealth and protection from losses.
• Allah's forgiveness and blessings.
• Protection from the wrath of Allah and from a bad death.
• A shelter on the Day of Judgment;
• Security from seventy misfortunes.


Brothers and Sisters. Muslims and Non-Muslims whoever you are this is a form of charity and for the person who strives in the cause of Allah is an honourable being. Allah say in the Holy Quran:
"Verily, those who give Sadaqat (i.e. Zakat and alms, etc.), men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honorable good reward (i.e. Paradise)." [Al-Quran 57:18]
Do not delay as we have a short period of time. its time to give back to the community. You never how long this Masjid might last however long it last there will be a recurring hasant/good deeds for you.
