New Wheelchair Van for James!

Donation protected
Anyone who's been lucky enough to work with, for or around James knows that he is no ordinary guy! He's got a smile that lights up the room and a sense of humor like no other!

If you know James, you are lucky enough to know his mother Beth as well. In my years working with parents and their children I've never met someone so fiercely focused on providing EVERYTHING for her child and not allowing an obstacle to get in the way. She has always striven to keep James healthy and active and was proud of the fact that they never had to spend extended time in a hospital.

That all changed in January of 2016 when James began to experience storming sessions that limited his quality of life and left Beth and James' medical team without an answer for the reason the storms started or how to manage them.  James and Beth have spent the last 15 months in the hospital, first at Children's Hospital Boston, then Franciscan Children's Hospital in Boston and most recently at Gillette Children's Hospital in Minnesota where they have made great progress in treating the storming symptoms and focusing on healing!

In there transition to Minnesota, Beth left their handicap accessible minivan with one of James' wheelchairs parked at Franciscan Hospital, assuming they'd be back in just a few weeks. Well, after being in MN for several month's they recently learned that the van was stolen out of the parking lot, leaving them with not only the worry of surgeries and healing BUT ALSO having to find a new van to transport James in when they return home.

Luckily insurance covered the remaining loan balance of the stolen van, but now Beth is left with a need to purchase a new van on top of all the other expenses (financial, physical and emotional) of their 15 months in the hospital. Nevermind the fact that new van will cost as much as $50,000-$60,000!

Beth has gone out of her way as long as I've known her to help me and EVERYONE she every comes in contact with! Now it's time for me (US) to help her! If you can donate ANY amount to help replace the van for Beth and James it would be greatly appreciated! Every little bit will help and will bring us closer to helping Beth and James close out this chapter of their lives and move on to the next, brighter and exciting chapter!
