New Home for SNAP Co.

Hello Supporters,

My name is Lydia Robinson and I am the Founder/ Director of Scene-N-Action
Productions Company aka SNAP Co.  The performing arts became a passion for
me at age 11 and I dreamed of owning a performing arts center in the future.  At age 13, I was diagnosed with a rare tumor disease which led me to frequently visit the hospital throughout my teenage /early adult years. Words could never explain what I was experiencing through this process ; however, I found dance to be my voice and used it to creatively tell my story as I received my healing.

After graduating college, I wanted to use my talents to give back to children in the community who were once like me; needing a creative outlet to express themselves. I then founded SNAP Co. in 2012. I created this non profit as a community arts organization that would be a loving and nurturing environment for youth to be free  to express themselves while also gaining self confidence, self awareness and learning the importance of community. Our organization uses the arts as a tool to creatively create the "scene" of our lives and put into movement or "action"..... get it?! Lol!

In the past 8 years, the organization has operated in a local recreation center in
the city and has enrolled over 30 participants in our performing company and impacted over 100 youth throughout Philadelphia through our arts outreach program. Due to COVID-19, most programs have transitioned to an online platform. In addition, we also have limited access to our recreation center to continue to operate.

So we stepped out on faith and into action and decided to move to our very own facility located in Chestnut Hill..whoohoo!. We have been a part of many holiday parades in this community and now it will be our home. This move will allow us to continue our programs in-person (under CDC Guidelines) and have the appropriate space needed to instruct virtual classes and also diversify which is greatly needed in today's time. The past 8 years has been such a delight and has had a major
impact on some many young lives through the arts that we could not quit!
