BSA Troop 77 needs new roof

Hello, My name is Chris West and I am the current Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 77 sponsored by the Elks Lodge in Boulder, CO. The Boulder Elks Lodge #566 and BSA Troop 77 need your help.

Funds are urgently needed to provide a new roof for the Youth Activities Center where the Troop has met and stored its supplies and equipment since 1949. The roof is in such disrepair that it threatens the ability of the Elks Lodge to continue to charter the Troop. This in turn threatens the sustainability of one of the oldest Troops in Boulder which has been in existence since 1939 and has helped 117 boys become EagleScouts.
The roof leaks have progressively worsened over the past few seasons and the Elks Lodge does not have the funds to repair it. We have used plastic tarps on the roof and devised self draining tarps to keep essential portions of the interior dry. Due to the current condition of the interior Troop 77 has seen a decline in the number of new scouts joining our organization. Unless we get this facility repaired we will need to find a new charter.
A new roof is the key to the longevity of this building, the relationship between the Elks and the BSA, and the livelihood of Troop 77. Roofing contractors have placed estimates of $30,000 for the repair alone. 100% of the funds collected will be given to the Boulder Elks Lodge for roof repair with funds being transfered on a biweekly basis into the Youth Activity Center bank account. If any funds are left over following the repair, they will be used to begin much needed improvements on the interior which will again make this a space that welcomes and encourages youth to become part of the Troop 77 legacy. We are in need of a new drop ceiling, light fixtures and flooring but none of that matters if the roof is leaking. These boys deserve a safe, dry and welcoming place to meet.
