Due to diabetes complications, George needs a kidney transplant as soon as possible. The process of getting a new kidney can take up to 3 years. If he doesn't get one ASAP, then he will have to go on dialysis which puts him in jeopardy of losing not only his job, but his home as well.
The first step in the process is finding a donor through pre-transplant screening, followed by donor matching, surgery, post-surgical care and the first six months of drugs which will cost over $250,000.
Once the transplant is performed he will be in Portland for at least 6 months for post-operative care.
These funds will be used for medical bills and travel costs to Portland, Oregon for both airline tickets and fuel costs.
We would like to start raising funds now to help off-set costs that he and his family will be incurring beginning February 1, 2019.
