In response to the current pandemic, the Grand Traverse Area Children's Garden is pivoting its programming in 2020 to serve the greater community in the best way we know how - by using our beautiful growing space to provide food to those most vulnerable in our community.

Traditionally, our 12 raised bed plots in our Children's Learning Garden give area children's groups of all ages guided gardening instruction from seed to plate. But, this year, we are unsure how we can safely invite those groups into our beautiful garden. But, we do not wish for that space to remain fallow when our community needs us. We realize the families of the groups we traditionally serve may need extra assistance during this time, and we wish to rise to the challenge.

The GTACG needs your help in supporting these efforts. We will be converting as much of our space as possible to food production for 2020, to give our community as much, fresh, healthy, and local produce as we possibly can. Our two staffers, Kimberly and Jeremy, will be concentrating almost all their time and efforts to growing food.
