Neil DeRiemer Needs Our Help

Donation protected

Some of you may know Neil DeRiemer and some of you may not.  Those of you who do can vouch that there are not many people like him, and I mean that in the best possible way.  For those of you who don't, please allow me to tell you a little bit about the man I hope to help through a tough time.

Neil DeRiemer is my uncle.  He is a great man who has always been there for his family and friends and always puts others needs above his own.  His son Christian was born with Muscular Dystrophy and for the last 29 years he has taken care of him no matter what else was going on in his life.   Things may not have always been easy, but he made sure that Christian had a happy and enjoyable life no matter what else was going on in his life.

When I lost my job in 2012 and had nowhere to live, he and his wife Karen took me in and let me live with them until I got back on my feet.  Did they really need another person in the house or another mouth to feed?  Of course not, but without thinking twice about it, he jumped to my rescue.  He has been doing that for me since the day my father passed away and continues to do so to this day even though I no longer rely on him for housing.

About 3 years ago, his wife Karen passed away after a long battle with cancer.  This left a huge hole in Neil and Christian's life as well as anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing Aunt Karen.  It also made things more difficult financially as there was less money coming into the household.

Neil has lived in his home for over 35 years.  He has been through ups and downs as most of us have, but he has never let any of the downs break his spirit.  Even when he was recovering from a brain hemmorage and cancer of his own, he never stopped to feel bad for himself.  After all he has been through, he has come into some hard times financially.  Since the passing of his wife, he has struggled to make payments on the house and now must figure out what is going to happen next in his life because without help, his long time home will be going up on a sherriff sale.

Neil is a man who I am proud to have in my life and would do anything in the world for, and that is why I am asking for your help.  He would never ask for help because he would never want to be a bother on anyone.  It isn't his way.  He will always look out for everyone else and never ask for anything in return.  This man has been there for me my whole life and I want to be there for him when he needs help the most.

In order to help this great man and keep his roof over his head, he needs our help.  This is just the beginning.  Please don't stop at the goal.  If we reach the goal, trust me he will still need our help.  This is not the entire amount that he is behind.  Helping with this cause will not only mean a lot to me and the rest of his family, but it will help a deserving man get back on his feet.  As I said, he would never ask for help....so let's help him without being asked as he has done for everyone else time and time again.
