Need to Feed - Serving the Community

Need to Feed is a volunteer led project providing free hot meals in Lewisham, South East London.

Since the start of the year we have served over 3000 meals to the local community and have become a key contributor to the wider food network in the borough.

We've been helping feed those who are experiencing homelessness, struggling families, people collecting food on behalf of others as well as key workers and staff from the local NHS trust. We also deliver locally to a number of vulnerable residents that are not able to collect the food in person.

We don't ask questions and we provide for everybody. 

As we all look forward to spring and the prospect of new beginnings the project will continue it's service on a revised basis, funded solely by the donations of its supporters.

The initiative was started by Councillor Tauseef Anwar - an ambassador for social equality and Speaker of Lewisham Council. Tauseef recognised the need for an outlet serving free hot meals in Lewisham,  in order to compliment the fantastic work already being done by local food banks. 

We are extremely proud and thankful for all the efforts of residents in Lewisham during this difficult time and to everyone coming together from all corners of the community to help those most in need.
