In desperate need of a family sized vehicle
Donation protected
Our vehicle’s (SUV) engine died in June and we’ve been trying to get it fixed ever since. In July we had our 5th child (our rainbow baby in our blended family) and were hoping to get the suv back within a week or two of his birth. It’s now October, and obviously that has not happened. We are being told it’ll be $5500 to replace and install the engine with an older, high mileage engine (which are hard to come by), or $10-$12,000 to replace it with a new engine. With the size of our family we are in desperate need of a larger vehicle and cannot afford the expenses to have the suv engine replaced. Money is tight in this economy and loans are hard to come by when you are struggling. We have also both been furloughed during the pandemic. We currently are driving a 4 door sedan and cannot ride together anywhere because 7 people don’t fit in a 5-person car (4-person with a car seat in the back). We have been able to borrow a car, but that will end soon. And we can’t be a one car family with two working parents. We also still currently owe $8,000+ on the suv that’s just sitting at a shop.
We could desperately use the help to pay off the vehicle and purchase or have enough for a down payment for another vehicle.
