Stewart Tidwell Fund

A dear friend is setting up this page to help my husband and I with medical bills. Stewart has been diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme tumor deep in his brain, in an inoperable location. They say there is no cure and we have treatment options, which will be starting soon but we are followers of Christ and our faith is in the Great Physician so we know where true healing comes from.

On February 16, I drove my husband to the emergency room because he had headaches for over a week with no relief and was just not himself. We weren't going to go to the ER. We are mid-twenties and healthy and I had missed all the signs that something was wrong for days. The night before we went to the ER, I was stubborn and annoyed but God opened my eyes in what can only be described as divine intervention. Stew lay down on the couch and got really quiet and when I asked him what was wrong, he whispered, "I'm afraid I have cancer." I told him he was crazy but a couple of hours later, it struck a fear in me so deep that I knew he needed to go back to a doctor. Stew doesn't remember this conversation. We didn't think it was cancer of course but we knew something was wrong. We almost didn't go to the ER. We were more afraid of the bills of the ER visit but again, divine intervention through two phone calls got us there.

We don't know how much our hospital bills will be. We don't know what treatment will cost but it will start soon, within a week or two. It is humbling to allow someone to set this up for us. We wish we didn't need it. We pray that we won't need all of it and that we will be able to use any money that doesn't go towards medical expenses for missions work, wherever the Lord desires.

The Lord allows things to happen sometimes that we do not understand. We may not ever understand in this life why He has allowed this to happen to Stewart and Caitlin. But we know one thing...God is good...all the time (Psalm 100:5). Stewart and Caitlin are truly living out what it means to trust in the Lord with EVERYTHING and in EVERY situation. Their faith is stronger than ever and through all the pain and heartache they have managed to bring glory to His name (Psalm 115:1). I know MANY have already been incredibly touched by Stewart and Caitlin's story and will continue to be.

Please prayerfully consider donating to Stewart's medical fund. We do not know what lies ahead but the Lord does and we can find great peace and rest in that. However, we do know there will be monitary expenses (medical, food, bills). Now more than ever, Stewart and Caitlin need the support and encouragement of their friends, family, and the body of believers. Whether you are able to give or not, please continue to keep Stewart and Caitlin in your thoughts and prayers as they walk this difficult road that lies ahead.

Please check back periodically for updates on how Stewart is doing.
