More 2020 hits fam hard - Emergency Brain Surgery

On June 30th, a series of headaches and vision issues brought Nathan Ford to the eye doctor. What happened from there was both unexpected and a whirlwind for Nathan and his wife, Liz. Within 24 hours of the eye appointment, doctors ran an MRI and took him by ambulance from Longmont to Lakewood, CO, performed an angiogram and CT scan, and rushed Nathan into surgery. The finding was an aneurysm behind his left eye, nearing rupture. For all the folks unfamiliar with aneurysms - they are the silent killers, found primarily in autopsies! After six hours in the Operating Room, miraculously Nathan could both speak and move, two primary concerns of the surgeons. At this point, he is still being cared for in the ICU,  with a very long, but hopeful, prognosis and road to healing.

Anyone who has experienced a hospital stay knows the enormous costs that accompany it. For Nathan and the amount of testing and level of care, not to mention a high risk and complicated surgery, it will be even more so. Nathan is also self employed - a tree arborist in Estes Park, CO. His wife, Liz, and their two kiddos, Zion and Montana, rely on his work as their income. However, it will be at least 6 weeks after he is released from the hospital (whenever that will be) before he can resume this work and can pay these medical bills, let alone living expenses!
