Cookie & Asia's Moroccan Dash

Donation protected

Hello, i'm Cookie, and if you know me you probably know I had the idea to build a bike from the ground up about a year and a half ago. But I also decided there should be more to it than that, so part two of the plan was born, to ride it somewhere slightly more interesting than my local café….. so I decided to ride it to another continent. North Africa specifically, and Morocco more specifically than that. Mid September 2015 is sort of what I aimed for….

After putting up with me going on about it for so long, my girlfriend Asia decided she wanted to get in on the action too. On the back of my bike? Nope, on her own. And on a CBT 125cc licence at that. A licence she does not currently own, several weeks away from the leaving date. In her own words:

“I thought that there is no way I can miss any cool trip in my life and I decided to go. When Cookie bought a cheap 125 motorbike I could use I did freak out a little bit because the message was - this is actually happening! So I am just about to do my CBT and start practicing (well, probably on the way to Calais :)... We are super excited to go...camping, dirt, rain, cold, hunger, one person tent, stiff neck, stiff back, stiff everything (sounds great, ha?). But really, we can't wait to go and discover a little bit of our beautiful world.

Because this is a last minute spontaneous idea we didn't have a chance to save much money. As I tend to focus on things in life you don't need to pay for and we’re planning the whole trip to be low cost, I wouldn't want the reality of unavoidable costs (fuel and ferries) stopping us to go. To that end we’ve decided to ask friends, family and well-wishers if they would like to help us along the way!”

At the same time we’d like to donate 10% of everything we receive, split between a great pair of charities. The first, that is helping a friend of ours and many other bikers get back on 2 wheels after suffering disabilities, The Bike Experience: http://www.tbex.co.uk/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8LWFbxCb4E
The second is a local Oxfordshire charity that works to support survivors of sexual abuse, rape, domestic abuse, and harassment, OSARCC: http://www.oxfordrapecrisis.net/
That Asia has worked with for a long time and they do a fantastic work!

If you would like to gift us something to help keep our fuel tanks and bellies full, or buy us a cool beer at the end of the day, we couldn't thank you enough.
