DUO’s A Night in Their Shoes

In order to raise awareness of the Homelessness Issues within Durham Region, Melissa & Andrea will be sleeping on the street on the coldest night of the year.

We will be spending 12 hours outside as many of our friends and family have to each night. 

We have One Way Ministries coming down to bring us warmth and support. They have worked with us hand in hand since we opened this location. They will have hot chocolate, coffee and bowls of John’s street famous CHILI available to help warm us up. Please stop by and show us some Love ❤️! Have a bowl of CHILI and warm up. 

Please support them in their efforts by donating what you can to help fund DUO’s out of the cold Drug Free Safe Zone at 454 Simcoe Street S

Any donation of $150.00 or more will receive an angel wings Sentsy warmer. We will include a picture of the warmer here. 

If you would like to drive by, DUO will be accepting donations of new or clean, gently used winter boots, blankets, sleeping bags, large back packs coats gloves and hats. 

We thank everyone in our community for their support in the past and we appreciate even the smallest donation. The funds raised will be used towards the purchase of zero gravity chairs and also for supplies that will be used by DUO as we will soon be starting a day program during the week for our homeless community to seek housing, identification as well as addressing foot care issues. 

We have an exciting idea that we hope to launch in the next two weeks that will allow these community members an opportunity to earn some money and provide a product to some local businesses. This will hopefully be an introduction back into the work field for some and will have the people getting back on track and working with scheduled hours and gaining some self confidence back.
