Kayla goes to Africa

I will be joining my lovely and generous friend, Christina, in Africa. We will be teaching hospital employees basic sterilization and asepsis through a program Christina has developed. The goal of SPECT (Sterile Processing Education Charitable Trust) is to decrease potential infections related to unsterile instruments in patients undergoing surgical procedures. Their belief is that by providing education and resources to health care workers, they will empower them to develop and maintain safe sterile practices within their medical community.
