Salam. Beloved brothers and sisters:
We pray that this message reaches you in the best of health and spirits, as we try to navigate these trying times through patience, prayer, and faith. As you know already, the doors of masajid across the world have been closed shut due to the growing crisis of the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. As such, our masjid in particular has been shuttered for nearly one month and we are expecting it to continue into the months of April and May as well. May Allah hasten the end of this pandemic, amen.
Having said that, the masjid is direly in need of your support, more-so now than ever before. Our masjid is entirely dependent upon in-kind donations from generous donors like you. Our monthly expenses nearly reach $10,000 dollars, and due to this closure, we have been unable to sustain our ongoing operational costs.
We are sincerely appealing to you, our generous donors, who have time and time again come out and shown your support for our vast array of free programs offered to our wonderful community: please consider supporting us in this time of need. Whether it is $1, $5, $10, $100, or more, please remember us in your generous and kind giving! May Allah reward you immensely, in this life and the next, and protect you and yours from sickness, hardship, and misfortune. Amen.
Allah, the Generous, says in Quran:
"The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills..." [2:261]
"And those of you who believe and spend (in Allah’s way), theirs will be a great reward." [57:7]
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Allah has said: ‘Spend, oh son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” [Bukhari, Muslim]
"Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity (hardship, difficulty, sickness, etc)." [Tirmidhee]
May Allah, the Protector, the Provider, the Curer, protect you and yours from any calamity, hardship, or sickness. May He provide for you and yours from places you cannot imagine, and bless you and yours with the best of this life and next. May He grant cure to all who may be afflicted with sickness. Amen.
waSalam.
