This weekend I’ll be going up to Scotland to join many others riding a variety of distances for Chris Hoys cancer charities as part of the Tour de 4.

I’ll be riding the longest route on the day which I will not pretend to be as challenging as some other rides I have taken on for “fun”.

For me personally I am doing it because I read his book and went to a talk he did and was moved by his journey and openness around his battle with stage 4 Cancer and the bravery he has to set up an event like this, that he may likely not see beyond the first year.

I have never asked for sponsorship before for any event I have done, however, for this one I decided I would. Chris spoke so highly of what the Macmillan nurses meant to him and his family throughout his treatment and beyond so I’m doing it for them.

I shall also be matching the first £200 I raise with a donation to our kids primary school who are in much need of funds.
