My family of Nancy and Albertin. From their Son

Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Hector Daniel Jaimes. My family would call me by my middle name Daniel, but to everyone, I don’t mind either Hector or Daniel. I’m the oldest son of my mom and stepdad.

On January 22nd, 2023, I was notified by state police that my family was in a car crash. My mom, stepdad, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters were caught in that car crash. At the time my brother Adrian and I were at home.

My mom- Nancy Perez Olvera Gonzalez
My stepdad- Albertin Olvera Gonzalez
My brother – Christian Eduardo Jaimes
My littlest brother – Diego Fernando Perez Olvera
My baby sister – Zia Giulietta Perez Olvera

My sister Mia Isabella Perez Gonzalez was the only person that survived out of that car wreckage in critical condition. She was rushed to the hospital. As for my other family members and any others who were involved in that accident were confirmed deceased, a total of 7 deaths.

Investigators said a black Ford F-150 veered into oncoming traffic and hit a black Chrysler Aspen. DPS said the head-on crash happened in Comal County near Buffalo Springs Crossing on Sunday. My family was in the black Chrysler Aspen.

That Sunday was on January 22nd, 2023, at 2:30PM I had just got home from work, and I saw my family getting ready to head out, as they frequently do, they didn’t tell me where they were heading to, but I saw no reason to ask. After they left, I took a nap and at 6:02PM the crash had happened, and an app called Life360 notified me through the text message of the crash, but I didn’t hear the notification. Later that night at around 8PM I had heard someone was approaching the front door gate outside, and then that’s when I saw the state police officer vehicle with the lights on outside my street. The officer noticed me and told me everything.

Barely processing everything I would tell my brother Adrian what happened, and I would call everyone that I had on my contacts, family, friends, and work. Looking around I saw my mom’s laptop and announced on her Facebook to the public what had happened. From there I would rush to the hospital to see Mia with a few family members. Just like that our lives changed forever and with no time for grieving I would continue to move forward to take care of my siblings. At the same time my mom was going through a lot of stuff such as fighting to keep the house we live in, regardless of everything I would move forward and continue to be there for my brother Adrian and sister Mia.

A few weeks later I would find out that Mia has a complete T9 Spinal Cord Injury meaning that she can no longer feel or move below her waist. Mia would be wheelchair bound. She would now have to adapt to her new lifestyle, but she wouldn’t be alone. Mia would fight and get stronger as time goes by.

From the passing of my family to seeing Mia on the hospital bed. From seeing the Chrysler wreckage up close to arranging the funeral for my family. From seeing Mia’s reaction to our family lying in the caskets. To telling Mia that she would never walk again. To dealing with the situation of everything that’s happened. To whomever is reading this any support would be appreciated.
