My dog Bo’s radiation treatment

Spende geschützt

Hello,
My name is Kevin and I wanted to thank you for taking the time to view my  post.

My girlfriend, yra and I just graduated from Penn State University in May.  All throughout college, we had been taking care of our two dogs, Minnie and Bo. They were our companions, and always there by our side. When my girlfriend got diagnosed with SLE.  ( a form of lupus) our dogs have been our biggest support and helped us heal. They knew exactly how to take care of Yra when she was struggling and they both gave us the strength we needed.

here is a picture of us together earlier this year:

Shortly after graduating, we had to put our dog Minnie to sleep after her 8th birthday, which was extremely hard on us and on Bo.

Ever since the day we adopted Minnie and Bo, they were inseparable.

A few weeks go by, and suddenly we start to notice Bo having trouble going to the bathroom. We immediately took him to the vet thinking there might be something wrong, and we were informed with more bad news.

Bo had suddenly gone from a fully healthy dog, to being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as transitional cell carcinoma in the lining of his urinary wall and prostate.

The average life expectancy with his tumor and with no treatment is estimated to be no longer than a couple of months.

We were heartbroken when we heard the news, especially because we were just mourning over the loss of our other amazing dog.

Two weeks have gone by since we were told the news, and today we discussed treatment options with our local vet. The great news about the cancer that Bo is fighting is that more than 80% of the dogs who can afford getting the treatment, go into full remission.

The hard part is that the cheapest option to help get him better is close to $15,000. Our oncologist have told us that with the treatment Bo would have a 80-90% chance to be in remission.

We are making this post as a last hope to see if we can get some help to afford getting Bo the treatment that can save his life. With the current situation and the impacts of the pandemic, we understand how it could be a challenge and may be hard on anyone to be donating. It may also not be your personal focus at the moment due to the BLM movement which is completely understandable and respectable. It’s okay.

It’s okay if you can’t afford to help, however we ask to please keep him in your prayers and thoughts and share this post forward. $15,000 Is indeed a high ask and we may be a little bit too ambitious but we know we would regret not trying every option. Therefore even if we would not reach that 15k goal, we would allocate the funds to help bo live comfortably with the cancer.

Any donations are significantly appreciated.

He is our best buddy, and we can’t imagine losing him in a “couple of months” since he is only 8 years old and so active. Thank you so much for your consideration, and for helping out our dog Bo.
