Our Clean Water Service Trip

Dear friends and family,
I wanted to start by saying that each of you is very important to us, and even though not all of you can make it to our wedding, you are in our hearts and minds. Rather than receiving gifts or money on our wedding, Theresa and I wanted to use this as an opportunity to give back in a way that is important to both us. Increasing access to clean water and sanitation is something about which we are very passionate, and we invite you to join us in supporting this cause.
This passion has driven me to become a plumber and it is my goal to help with different clean water and sanitation projects locally as well as abroad. There are many great charities helping to increase access to clean water such as Lifewater.ca, Wateraid.ca, ecuadortierraviva.org, and hands4africa.webnode.com (check them out for more info if you like), all of which would be great avenues for me to help out with my skills as a plumber.
This is where the gofundme campaign comes in. There are a few possibilities for us to help out with these charities and projects, but at this time, due to various factors, we are not able to confirm work with a specific one. These factors include taking a month off work, when specific projects will be implemented, cost of the trip, etc. We were originally planning on doing a project with Lifewater, but due to scheduling conflicts we could not. So once we know which charity we will be working with, where and when we will be going, what we will be doing, and how will it really help in the long run, we will let you know and keep you up to date with the effort along the way. Our goal is to be working and helping with a project within a year or less. We appreciate all the help you can give with supporting this effort in place of wedding gifts. To those who have already donated to Lifewater as we first encouraged in the invitation, thank you so much - your donation is supporting a wonderful charity.
