Support for Lincoln

Lincoln is my 2 year old nephew. 

Lincoln is the youngest grandchild in our family. Only child to my younger sister, Melissa and his father, Philip.

On January 27th, 2024, at 2 years and 2 months old, doctors shared news with our family a preliminary diagnosis for Lincoln: leukemia of ambiguous lineage. 

His blood was showing some markers for T cell and B cell. After completing his full course of chemo treatments, Lincoln’s cancer was still growing. The doctors learned more about his cancer and his diagnosis was updated to AML with mLL / KMT2A. More commonly referred to in the abbreviated was as KMT2A.

After FMLA ran out, Melissa lost her job as a medical office assistant and is preparing to be off work for the next year or more, to be with Lincoln during his hospital visits and treatments. 

We have exhausted all foundations in Michigan to help Melissa cover bills. We are raising funds to cover their bills including mortgage, utilities, and transportation to and from hospital. 

Currently, Lincoln is being treated at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. He has been enrolled in a clinical trial providing us with much hope for his remission! This is quite a distance from Lansing, MI and has added to expenses for Lincoln’s father to visit in Houston.
