Mushroom Shed

The image in our last Gofundme campaign was a photoshop rendering of what we wanted the Mushroom Shed to look like. Thanks to your overwhelming support, the photo seen here, is that vision turned reality. We could not have done it without your support! 

For those of you who may not know, the shed is modeled after a community smokehouse on Huguenot Street built in the 1700's that was once a shared space for the community to smoke their meats. Based on this model, the Mushroom Shed has become a gathering space for mushroom cultivation and related nature education programming. 

With the exterior complete, we are making plans for building out the interior! This is where we need your help. This campaign is to raise funds to clad the inner walls with metal sheeting, shelving, insulation, and low-tech temperature/air control tools. 

Our goal is to have the shed ready for the Spring to support our indoor and outdoor community cultivation and educational programming. 

Mushroom Shed hosts community events that happen every 2nd Tuesday of the month. So far, we have had local speakers, hands-on workshops, field trips, and events attended by hundreds of members of the community.

Our mission is to grow, share, connect, and gather together. Your support is important for the continued   evolution of the shed. Please consider donating any amount or reaching out about a material donation. 

Our upcoming events include:
- An interactive brainstorm session on February 11th 
- An off-site trip to Sugar Shack Mushrooms in New Paltz on March 10th 
- Preparing fruiting blocks and garden beds at Mushroom Shed on April 14th
